Homicide ruling

Homicide ruling

WARREN

Dr. Humphrey Germaniuk, Trumbull County coroner, has ruled that Donyell Johnson, 40, of Basswood Avenue in Howland, died as a result of stab wounds to the neck “accompanied by multiple gunshot wounds to the head.”

He ruled that the death was a homicide.

Dr. Germaniuk declined to talk further about his ruling, citing an ongoing investigation.

Johnson was found dead Wednesday after a girlfriend called 911, saying she feared for his safety because she could see blood on the walls inside the house.

Police say they believe Johnson had given the girlfriend an incorrect name, because she knew him as Martin Reed. He used eight or more different names, police said.
