Utica Shale well planned for Ellsworth Township

ELLSWORTH

The Vindicator has learned of another Utica Shale drilling well is planned within Ellsworth Township limits.

The proposed site will be along Western Reserve Road between Knauf Road and state Route 45, according to a source with knowledge of the situation.

The permitting has not yet been completed with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.

For a Utica well, horizontal and vertical drilling permits are required.

It will be the first drilling permits in Ellsworth. There have been eight permits for four wells issued in nearby Goshen Township and two permits for one well in Milton Township.
