Helping to get coats for kids: Boardman High School’s National Honor Society recently contributed $300 to the Boardman Lions Club’s Coats for Kids Drive. The money, the club’s largest donation to date, helped the Lions buy 52 winter coats for 26 area families. From left to right are Lions Betsy Koch and Kathy Collins and NHS President Faith Marsco. Other NHS projects this year were Coins for Kids for Akron Children’s Hospital, tutoring and volunteering at Angels for Animals. The club also plans to participate in the Lions’ White Cane Collection Day, Nov. 23. Mary Beth Shobel, a Boardman Lion, advises the club.
