Youngstown CityScape Residents honored for good looks

YOUNGSTOWN

Youngstown CityScape has achieved its goal to help beautify downtown Youngstown and surrounding areas.

The organization honored local residents for helping during its fifth annual Youngstown City- Scape Beautification Awards ceremony at Fellows Riverside Gardens.

Nearly two dozen awards were presented, including to businesses and institutions and to individual homeowners and neighborhood groups.

Carol Franklin and Clark Babb, representatives of the Clark Bar on Mahoning Avenue, were among the first-time honorees. They said the award was a surprise.

Award recipients each received award certificates and signs they can display in their yards or gardens. CityScape group members hope more people will get involved because beautification promotes growth and can help the economy, they say.
