Black Friday party will help food bank

The Black Friday Old School Party, featuring Youngstown’s Total Package Band, will be Friday from 9 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. at B&O Station banquet hall, 530 Mahoning Ave. Admission is $7 at the door, or $5 with the donation of a nonperishable food item for Second Harvest Food Bank. ‘Folk Festival’ host to speak at meeting

The Youngstown Torch Club will have a dinner meeting at 6 p.m. Monday with guest speaker Charles Darling, professor emeritus of American history at Youngstown State University and host of “Folk Festival,” heard on WYSU-FM on Sunday mornings. His presentation, “Red Triangle in the Queen City,” will examine the conflict between Americans and immigrants from Ireland and Germany in the pre-Civil War era. The meeting will be in Kilcawley Center at Youngstown State University. The public is invited. Dinner for nonmembers is $18. For reservations, call 330-757-4148.
