Millers celebrate 50th anniversary at family dinner

SALEM

An intimate family dinner Nov. 12 marked the 50th anniversary celebration of James and Mary Miller of Salem.

The couple’s children hosted the dinner at A La Cart Catering in Canfield and extended invitations. They are Jim (Theresa) Miller of Beloit; Jeff (Laura) Miller of Cornelius, N.C.; Lori (Rob) Reitzig of Winchester, Va.; and Mary (Frank) Faria of Austintown. The Millers’ family also comprises 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Miller, the former Mary Van Slyke, worked as a dispatcher for the Beaver Township Police Department in North Lima and retired in 1989. She also dispatched for the Salem Police Department and retired in 2001. She is a member of Kingsville Eastern Star Orion Chapter 12.

Mr. Miller retired in 2003 from General Motors, where he worked as a laborer.

The couple were married Nov. 25, 1961, at First Baptist Church of Ashtabula. They are members of Old North Church in Canfield.
