‘Holiday Hopes, Wishes’ to benefit Akron Children’s

Kids’ Crew of Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley will host the third annual “Holiday Hopes and Wishes” luncheon Dec. 9 at Mr. Anthony’s.

A social and shopping at 10 a.m. precedes the luncheon at 11:30. The cost is $30 per person, and advance reservations are required. Corporate sponsorship packages are available. Make reservations by calling 330-746-9122. All proceeds benefit the hospital.

Among the features of the event will be a basket raffle, silent auction and holiday bake shop. Items to be auctioned include two American Girl Dolls, Cecile and Mary Grace, and four tickets to the Jan. 1 Steelers-Browns game.

Committee members follow: Donna Hayat and Kathy Dwinnells, co-chairwomen, and Cathy Campana, Donna Chiarelli, Betty Cmil, Julie Costas, Paula Jakubec, Gayle Kelly, Tricia Potesta, Linda Lee Siegle and Pattie Welsh. Corporate sponsors are Belmont Pines Hospital, The DeBartolo Corp., Handel’s Ice Cream, Huntington Bank, Joy Cone, Marcus Thomas, Merrill Lynch, Panera Bread, PNC Bank, Simco Management Corp, Wal-Mart and Weathertite Windows.

The Kid’s Crew is a committee of volunteers working to make a difference in the lives of Mahoning Valley children. The main purpose is to help by providing hospital-sponsored events and other fundraisers.

Membership is open to anyone 18 or older. The dues are $15, renewable by Jan. 31 each year.
