Phantoms pick up a road win in USHL

BENSENVILLE, ILL.
Austin Cangelosi and Sam Anas each scored a goal and an assist to lead the Youngstown Phantoms to a 4-1 victory over the Chicago Steel in a United States Hockey League game on Friday night.
The Phantoms (9-5-0, 14 points) won for the second time in as many games at Chicago (5-10-0, 10 points) this season.
Youngstown won 3-0 at Edge Ice Arena on Oct. 7.
The Phantoms won despite being outshot 45-29, including 33-16 over the final two periods.
Youngstown’s Matthew O’Connor got the win, stopping 44 shots.
The Phantoms did go 1 for 4 on the power play, and held the Steel without a goal in five opportunities with the man advantage.
Cangelosi and Ryan Belonger assisted on the Phantoms’ first goal of the game, by Mike Ambrosia, with 10:58 remaining in the first period.
Chicago tied the score with 17:35 left in the second period on a Theo DiPauli goal, assisted by Ali Thomas.
Youngstown regained the lead with 4:55 remaining on Sam Anas’ tally. Daniel Renouf and Stephen Collins had the assists.
In the final period, J.T. Stenglein made it 3-1 on a power-play goal, assisted by Anas, with 5:17 to go.
Cangelosi’s goal was unassisted and came with the Phantoms short-handed and Chicago having pulled its goalie with 49 seconds to go.
