Officer suspended in Weathersfield

Weathersfield Township Police Chief Joseph Consiglio on Friday confirmed that a full-time township patrolman is on indefinite suspension.
Patrolman Richard Mattesich, who has been with the department as a full-time officer since 1999, was placed on suspension effective Thursday. Consiglio said he could not comment on the reason for the suspension because the issue is a “personnel” matter. The suspension is indefinite, he said, pending hearings by the township trustees.
