Firefighters battle blaze at Hubbard auto-parts store

The Hubbard Fire Department received assistance from several departments fighting a blaze at Tom’s Automotive, 535 West Liberty St.
The fire, which began at 7:02 p.m., did extensive damage to the parts store, which is in the center of town.
Departments from Liberty, Coitsville, West Middlesex, Shenango Township and Farrell assisted, with Hubbard Township firefighters directing traffic.
The building containing the parts store also has three other businesses, including a barbershop that was still operating when the fire started. Everyone in the barbershop escaped, and the fire didn’t cause any injuries.
John Clemente, chief of the Eagle Joint Fire District, which serves Hubbard and Hubbard Township, estimated damage to the parts store at $100,000, with lesser amounts of damage to the barbershop, insurance business and body shop.
