With the announced end of the Iraq war and President Barack Obama’s pledge to have troops home for the holidays, The Vindicator is seeking area Iraq veterans who recently have come home or are coming home before the Christmas/ Hanukkah season, and their families, for a story about how they plan to mark this extra-special homecoming during the holidays.

Woman sentenced

WARREN

A woman convicted of child endangering for injuring a 19-month-old girl she was baby-sitting has been sentenced to three years in prison.

Amanda C. Hall, 31, of Northfield Avenue Northwest received her sentence Thursday in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court.

Hall took her case to trial before Judge John M. Stuard, who found her guilty. She was accused of holding the girl’s arm under scalding water.

The child suffered burns to her hand and lower forearm as a result of the Oct. 14, 2010, incident at Hall’s home.

Board to meet

The city school board will meet in special session at 5 p.m. today at the Irene L. Ward Building, 20 W. Wood St., to discuss financial matters. Board members last week said they expected to discuss a renewal or replacement levy.
