A summary of recent criminal activity in Poland and Boardman townships:

POLAND

Nov. 8

Attempted burglary: A woman in the 8400 block of Struthers Road noticed broken glass next to her front door.

Assault: A woman told police who were investigating an unwanted person in the 6100 block of Clingan Road that she had been assaulted.

Theft: An employee with Poland Seminary High School, 3100 Dobbins Road, reported a $100 cellphone stolen.

Theft: A Burgess Lake Drive woman discovered two gift cards and $20 missing.

Nov. 10

Theft: Eleven aluminum rims, six radiators and eight condensers were stolen in the 2300 block of Country Lane.

Theft: Numerous pieces of jewelry and $60 were removed from a residence in the 6800 block of James Street.

Criminal damaging: A car sustained damage in the township, though the report did not list the location.

Auto theft: A 1993 Oldsmobile Cutlass was stolen in the 2100 block of Renwick Drive.

Nov. 11

Theft: A Lyon Boulevard woman reported the theft of $14.

Criminal mischief: Part of a driveway was damaged in the 2400 block of Edgewater Drive.

Nov. 12

Criminal damaging: Someone in the 7900 block of Eastbrooke Trail smashed pumpkins and placed dents in a vehicle.

Nov. 11

Theft: Two vehicles at Rick Bayus Motors, 5206 Youngstown-Poland Road, had their $200 catalytic converters removed.

Theft/criminal damaging: A woman at a gathering in the 3900 block of Sylvia Lane noticed a screw in her tire and that a $2,000 wedding ring, two laptop computers and Xbox game items were stolen.

Theft: Michael E. Gay, 40, of 379 Stephens St., Youngstown, was charged in the theft of a box of golf balls and computer-related items from Walmart, 1300 Doral Drive. He also was wanted by Trumbull County authorities on a theft warrant.

Theft: Jeffrey D. Mayhew, 19, of 409 Fifth St., Struthers, was charged, accused of stealing a $28 dirt bike from Walmart.

Theft: A South Avenue man reported the theft of a credit card.

Drugs: A traffic stop near South Avenue resulted in a felony drug-abuse charge against 22-year-old Raymond D. Sykes, 155 Wirt St., Youngstown. A police dog led to the discovery of a folded piece of paper containing a substance that tested positive for heroin, a report showed.

Theft: A man and a woman in their 20s stole about $1,770 worth of jewelry from Kmart, 1209 Boardman-Poland Road.

Arrest: Police responded to a vehicular crash on Glendale Avenue, where they charged 55-year-old Alan D. Conzett, 6619 Glendale, with obstructing official business. Conzett was not forthcoming and provided elusive answers regarding damage to his truck that hampered officers’ ability to complete the crash report, they said.

Nov. 12

Theft: A Poland boy noticed his wallet missing at a Boardman-Poland Road fast-food restaurant.

Harassment: A Millcreek Boulevard woman said her former boyfriend sent numerous unwanted and annoying text messages.

Theft: The former owner of a Market Street business reported three drills, two four-wheel dollies and other items stolen after a close-out auction.

Identity fraud: An Old Oxford Lane woman told authorities she received a United Parcel Service package containing a $2,347 computer she never ordered and that she discovered an account had been opened in her name.

Theft: A man in the 300 block of Melrose Avenue reported his $300 cellphone stolen.

Theft/criminal damaging: A car in the 300 block of Melrose Avenue was damaged. Stolen were a set of keys and a wallet.

Arrest: Police on Melrose Avenue arrested 22-year-old Andrew D. Stanton, 26 N. Navarre Ave., Austintown, who was wanted on a warrant accusing him of failing to appear in court on a probation-violation charge.

Citation: Officers cited Delmon K. Woodley, 20, of 6063 Applecrest Court, Boardman, on a charge of having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle.

Arrest: Rudolph Lewis, 38, of 6075 Applecrest Court, Boardman, was taken into custody during a traffic stop on Market Street. He was wanted on a probation-violation charge.

Drugs: Police pulled over 25-year-old Christopher M. Stout on Market Street, then charged him with possession of drug paraphernalia and drug abuse-marijuana. Stout, of 3410 Flo-Lor Lane, Youngstown, admitted having a suspected marijuana pipe as well as a bag of suspected marijuana, and was released on a summons, a report said.

Theft: Authorities took custody of 31-year-old Anthony E. Barbero, 3860 Indian Run Trail, Canfield, who was wanted on a warrant accusing him of having stolen merchandise from Babies “R” Us, The Baby Super Store, 1240 Doral Drive.

Citation: Police on U.S. Route 224 cited 25-year-old Timothy A. Eakin Jr., 3433 Niles-Cortland Road NE, Cortland, on a charge of having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle.

Citation: Douglas E. Wade Jr., 21, of 5654 Lockwood Blvd., Boardman, received a citation charging him with marijuana possession.

Nov. 13

Citation: Officers cited 28-year-old Amanda Wilhite, 38 Shields Road, Boardman, on a charge of having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle.

Drugs: Dusty Zembauer, 24, of 12827 Springfield Road, New Springfield, was pulled over on Market Street, where he was cited on a charge of marijuana possession.

Arrests: A traffic stop on South Avenue resulted in the arrests of 20-year-old Jessie L. Winphrie, 408 Woodside Ave., Youngstown, and James Valentin, 48, of 440 Woodside. Winphrie and Valentin were wanted by Youngstown police on charges of assault and failure to appear in court, respectively.

Theft: Edward Clendenin II, 32, of 482 Clifton Drive, Warren, and Jason E. McElhaney, 37, of 3222 Bell South Road, Cortland, were charged with stealing cologne from Walmart. McElhaney also faced a felony drug-possession charge when, police said, five pills in a bag were in his pocket.

Theft: Miscellaneous clothing, toys and other items were removed from a vehicle on Shadyside Drive.

Theft: A Terrace Drive man reported numerous jewelry items and $1,000 stolen from his home.

Harassment: A Stratford Road man told police another man claiming the accuser owed him money threatened to blackmail him via phone.

Theft: A taillight was stolen off a truck in the 400 block of Southern Boulevard.

Theft: A woman at a Market Street store discovered her purse missing.

Criminal mischief: Derogatory comments were written on two vehicles, one each on Hillman Way and Windsor Road.

Theft: A township girl, 16, was charged with taking a $50 coat from Macy’s in the Southern Park Mall.

Nov. 14

Theft: Jessica C. Kiehl, 25, and 30-year-old Richard R. Renfro, both of 190 Lowell Ave., Youngstown, were charged with stealing six DVDs from Walmart.

Theft: Fifty-two sheets of insulation, barrier rolls and a compactor were stolen from a construction site in the 7200 block of Market Street. The loss was more than $8,000.

Theft: A man in his early 20s took a cellphone charger and case from Sprint, 430 Boardman-Poland Road.

Theft: A Poland woman at a Youngstown-Poland Road bank discovered $5,300 missing from her checking account.

Theft: Jesse L. Harden, 20, of 327 Wills Ave., Youngstown, and a 12-year-old city boy were charged, accused of stealing two Xbox items from Walmart. The boy was released to the custody of his mother.
