Oct. 13

Theft: A nail gun valued at $249 was reported missing from a home in the 3000 block of Lisbon Street.

Oct. 14

Telecommunications harassment: A Glenview Drive woman reported she had been receiving harassing Facebook and text messages, including threats.

Oct. 16

Assault: Police charged Robert McFarland, 39, of 17 Hunters Woods Blvd., Apt. C, with assault of a woman in the 20 block of Fairground Boulevard.

Oct. 19

Burglary: Marc Schadel, 25, of 1842 Paisley Drive. No. 14, Austintown, was arrested on a burglary charge in the theft of a television and cash from his mother at her home in the 300 block of Shadydale Drive.

Warrant: Police arrested Troy Emmet, 43, of 485 W. Main St., No. 16, on a Liberty Township warrant for misdemeanor theft.

Oct. 20

Possible identity fraud: A Kirk St. woman told police someone applied for a bank credit card in her name. The application was denied because she already had an account.

Theft/criminal tools: Police charged Lenore Shakoor, 39, of 3934 Fourth St., Struthers, for possession of criminal tools, and Eric McDowell, 43, of 5025 Forest Park Place, No. 4, Boardman, for theft and possession of criminal tools after their arrest for stealing a Toshiba portable hand drive/Prestige Portable hard drive and a pair of Dr. Dre headphones from Radio Shack, 429 E. Main St.

Oct. 20

Telephone harassment: A Fairview Avenue man reported receiving four phone calls from a male who said he was from a computer company and that there was a problem with his computer. The caller wanted the man to log into a web site, which he refused to do.

Oct. 21

Drug abuse: A 17-year-old juvenile was arrested for drug abuse of marijuana at Canfield High School, 100 Cardinal Drive.

Theft: Jovelyn Hamilton, 41, of 2409 Donald Ave., Youngstown, was arrested for identity fraud and theft in th theft of sweaters, other goods and a Visa credit card from a home on Montgomery Drive.

Oct. 22

Texting: Police issued a citation to Anthony Linzey, 18, of 110 Woodbine Ave., Struthers, for texting while driving.

Oct. 23

Drug paraphernalia: Police charged James Treep, 49, of Minerva, with possession of drug paraphernalia after his arrest on Broad Street.

Warrant: Police arrested Tina Gakda, 42, of 3958 S. Schenley Ave., Youngstown, on a warrant through Boardman police for contributing to the unruliness of a minor, during an operating a vehicle impaired task force patrol in Boardman.

Drug paraphernalia: Police charged Jacob Hall, 18, of 548 Stanton Ave., Niles, with possession of drug paraphernalia. He reportedly had a glass smoke pipe with marijuana residue.

Oct. 25

Assault/disorderly conduct: A 17-year-old male student and Gregory Kolbrich, 18, of 40 Squires Court were arrested for assault and disorderly conduct for fighting at Canfield High School.

Oct. 27

Drug abuse: Police arrested a 16-year-old male on a charge of delinquent child by way of drug abuse after finding him with a small bag of marijuana at the Mahoning County Career and Technical Center, 7300 N. Palmyra Road.

Oct. 29

Dispute: Kevin Cartwright, 24, of 10 High St., was charged with disorderly conduct after a dispute with a female neighbor about a tree issue.

Oct. 30

Drug paraphernalia: James Tribble, 28, of 5500 Sharon Drive, Boardman was arrested on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Oct. 31

Harassment: A Hunters Wood man reported receiving two harassing letters, one accusing him of making an obscene gesture to women while he walked his dog and both saying the anonymous writers want him to sell his condo and move out.

Nov. 5

Drug abuse: Edward Itayim, 51,of 320 Trumbull Ave., Youngstown was arrested on two charges of drug abuse after a police dog sniff of his vehicle turned up a single Vicodin ES pill and a half of a marijuana cigarette.

Police dog: A police dog sniff was conducted on a vehicle for the Ohio State Highway Patrol on U.S. Route 224 west of Market Street, but nothing was discovered.

Mutual aid: An officer responded to a request for mutual aid at the Blue Wolf restaurant, Boardman-Canfield Road, Boardman. The victim of an assault had already left the scene. Other Boardman officers responded, and the Canfield officer left.

Theft: Police charged Christopher Scafuri, 24, of 819 Cambridge Ave., Youngstown, an employee, with the theft of a 15-pound aluminum billet at Star Extruded Shapes, 7055 Herbert Road.

Nov. 6

Drug abuse paraphernalia: A 17-year-old male juvenile was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia at Canfield Middle School, 42 Wadsworth St. and also charged with violation of curfew, loitering and vagrancy.

Telephone harassment: A female victim of the 200 block of Talsman Drive received seven harassing phone calls three days in a row from an unidentified male or female who just breathed heavily when the victim answered.

Nov. 7

Warrant: Police arrested Tod Childs, 53, of 12 N. Main St., Bessemer, Pa., in the city on a warrant out of Struthers for failure to comply with the order of a police officer and a charge of falsification.

Nov. 12

Missing property: A Callahan Road man reported he has been missing two handguns for about eight months. The weapons were entered into Law Enforcement Agency Data System as missing.

Nov. 13

Missing refrigerator: A resident of the 300 block of E. Main St. reported a refrigerator was missing. The woman said the older-model appliance was moved out of the house and was sitting in the driveway, waiting to be moved into the garage. The owner said she had not had time to finish moving the appliance.
