Frank Ohl offers celebration for the whole family

When planning a Halloween celebration, Frank Ohl Intermediate School’s PTA knew the students were too old for a parade-and-treats type of party.
Celebrating its second year, the PTA’s Falcon Family Fun Night offered Frank Ohl students an age-appropriate celebration while entertaining families as well.
“For the fourth and fifth-graders, we know that the kids still enjoy the costumes and candy of Halloween, but that they also want something that is a little more grown up,” explained Frank Ohl’s PTA president Karen Fritz.
Frank Ohl students were ushered into their school’s auditorium for a kids-only dance party with tunes provided by Hurricane Productions. A PTA costume contest for the most original, authentic, silliest and best overall ensemble guaranteed an impressive show of costumes from the students.
National Honor Society students from Fitch High School were on hand to man activity areas and act as judges for the costume contest.
While the students enjoyed their very own closed-off celebration, the PTA also offered fun for parents and younger siblings.
Adults could enjoy a complimentary meal amd basket raffle during the event.
For 2 to 8-year-olds, Austintown Girl Scouts offered an in-house baby-sitting service where the young guests could play, complete a craft and watch cartoons.
“We understand how tough it is to keep everyone entertained, so we worked very hard to ensure that there really was something for everyone at our Family Fun Night,” said Fritz.
