WPO to present ‘Magical Musical Tour’ concert

The Warren Philharmonic Orchestra will present “Magical Musical Tour,” a family concert, at 3 p.m. Sunday at Christ Episcopal Church, 2627 Atlantic St. NE. For ticket information, call 330-399-3606.

Led by conductor Susan Davenny-Wyner, the WPO will be joined by guest vocalists soprano Marian Vogel and baritone Michael Young of Cortland, who sang the roles of Tosca and Scarpia last week in Opera Western Reserve’s production of “Tosca.”

The concert will include an instrumental petting zoo, during which children can get up close to the musicians; and an art show of works created by area students.

The musical program will include excerpts from Mozart’s “Magic Flute”; Shostakovich’s Festive Overture with young guest artists; Rimsky-Korsakov’s “Dance of the Buffoons”; Schubert’s “The Magic Harp Overture; and arias from operas by Puccini, Verdi and Strauss.
