Event to raise funds for Yankee Lake documentary

Local filmmaker John Jurko II will have a dinner at 7 p.m. Saturday to raise money to complete his documentary on Yankee Lake.

The event will be at the Yankee Lake ballroom, state Route 7. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. “Yankee Lake: The History & The Legend” will tell the story of the lake resort in Brookfield and the immigrant family that created it.

Tickets are $30 at the door, which includes dinner, a copy of the DVD when released next year and an invitation to a private screening of the film. Photos and memorabilia will be on display, and Jurko will give a short talk on the history of Yankee Lake and the documentary process.
