Forward Austin Cangelosi and defenseman Chris Bradley will be back in the Youngstown Phantoms’ lineup this weekend after missing five games to play with Team USA in the World Junior A Challenge.

Cangelosi scored a goal and set up two others as Team USA earned the bronze medal at the tournament in Langley, B.C.

Friday, the Phantoms (8-5-0, 16 points) will be in Bensenville, Ill., to play the Chicago Steel. It will be the Phantoms’ second trip to the Edge Ice Arena this season.

In the first game in October, Cangelosi scored a pair of goals in the Phantoms’ 3-0 shutout win over the Steel (5-9-0).

Saturday, the Phantoms will welcome the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders to the Covelli Centre for a 7:15 p.m. game.

Last weekend, the Phantoms dropped two of three games on home ice, including Sunday’s 4-3 loss to the Dubuque Fighting Saints.

The Phantoms defeated the Fighting Saints, 5-2, last Saturday, one night after they dropped a 2-1 loss to the Muskegon Lumberjacks. Goaltender Matthew O’Connor made 33 saves and Ryan Belonger scored the Youngstown goal in that loss.

In the win over the Fighting Saints, Richard Zehal and JT Stenglein both recorded a goal and an assist while Brent Norris, Sam Anas and Dylan Margonari netted a goal.

After falling behind 4-0 on Sunday, Anas scored two power-play goals and Stenglein scored a goal on a short-handed breakaway.

Stenglein recorded two goals and two assists in those three games.

The Phantoms are 5-2-0 on home ice as the RoughRiders (7-3-2) come to town. One of those wins was over the RoughRiders on Oct. 20 when Alex Gacek scored in overtime,

Since then, the RoughRiders have won five of their last seven games and are tied with the Phantoms for third place in the USHL Eastern Conference.

Former Phantoms forward Andej Sustr (2009-10) recorded a pair of assists last weekend as University of Nebraska–Omaha cruised past Bemidji State, 5-1.

Former Phantoms captain Adam Berkle (2009-11) tallied two assists as Bowling Green beat Canisius 3-1.

Former Phantoms Head Coach Curtis Carr, now an assistant at Merrimack College, saw the Warriors earn a 3-2 overtime win over Boston University. Merrimack is the only remaining undefeated team in NCAA Division I hockey and is ranked No. 2 in the nation.
