YSU grad sets book-signing Dec. 4

Youngstown State University graduate Brian Douglas will be at his home church, Old Springfield Church, from 2 to 4 p.m. Dec. 4 for a book-signing.

His first novel, “Gone in the Blink of an Eye,” is being released today.

“It’s exciting for me,” said Douglas. “I’m glad I finally tried to do what I love.”

Five years ago, the biology major lost his job and became frustrated. His wife encouraged him to write, he said.

“I loved reading when I was in school,” said Douglas. He said his first-grade teacher at Springfield Elementary in New Middletown always motivated him to explore books because she praised his abilities.

His book is about a police officer’s nationwide manhunt to find the people responsible for a boy’s kidnapping. It is available at Amazon.com, Barnes&Noble.com, as well as at the church during the signing.

Douglas said he is working on a second book, in what he hopes will be a series. He lives in Ashland with his wife and three children, Troy, Kristin and Brent and is employed as a group supervisor at WIL Research Co.
