West Side pizza shop robbed of about $110

Two men robbed an employee at Brier Hill Pizza and Wings on the city’s West Side.

Police responded Monday evening to the Mahoning Avenue business after an employee reported being robbed at gunpoint by two men wearing black hoodies, pants and bandannas over their faces.

The suspects made off with about $110 from the cash register, the employee’s cellphone and the keys to the business, before fleeing on West Heights Avenue.

Robbery in Niles

A man walked into the Pit ’n’ Git store, 522 Robbins Ave., at 11:36 a.m. Monday and demanded money.

The man’s face was covered except for the eyes. The clerk said she hesitated for a moment, and the robber yelled louder and reached into his pocket, so she gave him the money in the register, fearing he was about to pull out a weapon.

The man then ran out of the store. A witness attempted to follow him but lost sight of him around Cedar Street.
