Sanitary-sewer project could start in Poland, Struthers in March
GREENFORD — Mahoning County commissioners have approved a request from the county sanitary engineer’s office to again advertise for bids for the second phase of a sewer-improvement project in Struthers and Poland Township.
J. Robert Lyden, sanitary engineer, noted during the commissioners meeting today at the Big Reach Center of Hope that the $2.4 million South Struthers Interceptor Sewer Improvement project would extend service to Lutern Lane, James Street, Poland Center Drive and a portion of U.S. Route 224.
Bids will be advertised Dec. 21 and work could get under way by March, Lyden said, noting that many residents have complained about nonfunctional septic systems.
