Palmy chapter of OES installs 18

DEERFIELD

Palmy Chapter 114, Order of the Eastern Star, Deerfield, recently installed its 112th corps of officers at the Deerfield Masonic Hall.

Serving as grand installing officer was Past Grand Matron Carolyn McCahan of the Ana Dean Chapter, Barberton. Assisting her were Donald Sampson Jr., grand installing marshal; Margie Reese, Ravenna Chapter; and Bill Westover, grand installing organist.

Organist Sally Sampson was out of the country at the time and was installed at the chapter’s first stated meeting.

Palmy Chapter and Charity Lodge invite area children and their families to have “Breakfast with Santa” from 8 to 11 a.m. Dec. 3. Children can tell Santa what they want for Christmas, and each child will receive a gift from him. Take your own cameras. A freewill donation will be appreciated.

The junior past matron and patron, Betty and Ralph Coss, were presented a cash gift from the 2011 and 2012 officers for the chapter project, the Back Door Pantry, at Palmyra United Methodist Church. The pantry will continue as the chapter’s project for the coming year.
