Cops chase, catch burglary suspect

Police chased a burglary suspect from a home on Porter Avenue for 15 minutes as witnesses updated them with sightings of him.

Lamar Reese, 18, of Youngstown was caught at U.S. Route 422 and Struthers Liberty Road. He is charged with burglary and is in jail until his Friday court date, police said Tuesday evening.

Police said a neighbor called at 2:55 p.m. Tuesday to say she saw someone breaking into the home. By the time police arrived, the burglar was gone.

The burglary occurred during a shift change. Officers from the day and night shifts plus Coitsville officers joined in the chase.
