Police are looking for leads and any witnesses to solve the city’s latest homicide.

Adam R. Christian, 23, of Youngstown was found early Sunday, on his birthday, lying in a pool of blood on the sidewalk in the rear yard of an East Side apartment complex at 1483 Woodcrest Ave.

Christian had just left a female friend’s house shortly after midnight when the woman heard the victim scream and several gunshots.

The woman grabbed her children and ran to the second floor of her apartment.

When she came out, she found Christian had been shot multiple times.

The Mahoning County deputy coroner said Christian died of multiple gunshot wounds to the head and neck and has ruled the death a homicide.

No arrests have been made at this time, police said late Monday.

Christian was scheduled to appear for a pretrial hearing Dec. 12 before Judge Robert Milich in Youngstown Municipal Court on a charge of criminal trespassing.

He pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine in 2008 and was sentenced to two years’ probation, 50 hours’ community service and ordered to complete an in-house program at Community Corrections Association on Market Street.

The shooting death is the city’s 19th homicide this year, and the first this month.

The last homicide occurred Oct. 21, when Jerome G. Miller, who also was known as “Noodle,” 22, of Overland Avenue, was found shot to death at 1:55 a.m. in the parking lot of the Coconut Grove, 3229 South Ave.

There were also 19 city homicides at this time in 2010.
