Plaza View Apartments get new security system, smoke detectors

YOUNGSTOWN — The Plaza View Apartments, on the city’s East Side on Plaza View Court off McGuffey Road, recently showcased new safety and security measures to help protect the 186-unit housing facility.

The facility is now outfitted with security cameras and each housing unit now has wireless smoke detectors.

The improvements were made with financial assistance from a $50,000 grant through the Youngstown Development Agency.

Plaza View has served as a housing facility for low-income families for nearly 40 years.
