Niles native will sign her book at library

NILES

Lisa Abraham, a Niles native and award-winning food writer and columnist for the Akron Beacon Journal, will sign copies of her new book from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at McKinley Memorial Library, 40 N. Main St.

“Famous Chefs and Fabulous Recipes: Lessons Learned at one of the Oldest Cooking Schools in America” traces the history of the Western Reserve School of Cooking in Hudson, Ohio.

The school, founded by Zona Spray in 1971, was known as the Zona Spray Cooking School, and many Mahoning Valley residents have studied there, Abraham notes.

The book contains more than 200 recipes and profiles of 60 chefs. It can be purchased at Amazon.com.
