Newton Falls girl in national Bible competition
NEWTON FALLS
Hannah-Abigail Toth of Newton Falls is headed to Nashville, Tenn., to compete in the National Bible Bee Wednesday through Saturday.
Hannah-Abigail, 10, a fifth grader, secured one of the 300 top scores from across the country in Bible memorization during a contest Aug. 27 in North Royalton, Ohio.
Hannah-Abigail is one of nine children of Ron and Tamara Toth and attends North-Mar Christian and Missionary Alliance in Warren. She is home-schooled.
Hannah-Abigail memorized about 250 Bible verses and studied the Bible book of 1 Peter in depth over the summer. She has memorized another 100 verses and studied the text of 2 Peter for Nationals, which involve oral and written competition.
Top winners will be awarded more than $260,000.
