Jesse Jackson to rally with Ohio Occupy group

COLUMBUS (AP) — The Rev. Jesse Jackson plans to join an Occupy group in Ohio at a rally protesting the recent clearing out of Occupy camps in New York and other cities.

Spokesmen for Occupy Cincinnati and Jackson say he will join the group tonight at a downtown park where the group’s members have been meeting and last month camped out. The group says about 20 University of Cincinnati students joined them today in a meeting on the UC campus where Occupy Cincinnati had urged students to walk out of classes in support of the movement.

Occupy Cincinnati says the campus gathering and the rally were planned to show support for the national movement. That movement began in September in New York’s Wall Street financial district against what protesters call corporate greed.
