Happy 150th Birthday Ohio Statehouse

COLUMBUS (AP) — Visitors were invited today to sign a card and enjoy some cake as the Ohio Statehouse celebrates its 150th birthday.

It was on Nov. 15, 1861, that the Ohio Capitol building was completed after construction that took more than two decades. Today’s birthday party included a cake-cutting ceremony in the Statehouse Rotunda and a large birthday card available for signing before it’s put away in the Statehouse archive.

Officials say in a news release that the card will be brought out and displayed in 2061 during the 200th birthday festivities.
