Deanna Canter of Poland and Jon Parsons of Youngstown were married Aug. 27 in St. Matthias Church.
Monsignor Peter Polando conducted the afternoon ceremony for the daughter of Donna Canter of Poland and the late Robert P. Canter Sr. and the son of James and Lucinda Parsons of Youngstown. A reception followed at St. Nicholas’ Byzantine Center at the Grove.
The bride’s white princess-style gown was embroidered with metallic accents, crystal beading and sequins. It featured a cathedral-length train.
Michelle Shafer, the bride’s cousin, was matron of honor. She wore light blue, as did the bridesmaids: Nicole Canter and Andrea Canter, both sisters-in-law of the bride; Andrea Robinson; and Joc- lyn Horton. Lauren Canter, the bride’s niece, was flower girl.
Chet Flickinger was best man. Groomsmen were Paul Canter and Robert P. Canter Jr., the bride’s brothers; and Stacy Neubecker. Ring bearer was P.J. Canter, the bride’s nephew.
Mrs. Parsons graduated from Youngstown State University with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. She is a senior accountant with Lawrence County Community Action Partnership in New Castle, Pa.
Mr. Parsons, who is self-employed, is attending YSU and pursuing a bachelor’s degree in finance.
The couple, who took a wedding trip to Chesapeake Bay, Md., are living in Youngstown.
