YSU picks up two commitments

YOUNGSTOWN

Youngstown State's upset of top-ranked North Dakota State boosted more than just its playoff hopes.

The Penguins picked up two verbal commitments on Sunday morning, both senior offensive linemen from northeast Ohio.

Mac Wightman (6-4, 295), a guard from Avon Lake, and Quaison Osborne (6-4, 308), a tackle from Hudson, became the fourth and fifth commitments of the 2012 class.

Osborne chose the Penguins over scholarship offers from Akron, Ball State and Kent State.

Wightman did not have any other Division I offers.

The other 2012 recruits are Hickory OL/DL Matt Bell and Lexington safety Tyler Jackman.
