Mount Union 28, Muskingum 0

Matt Piloto threw for 322 yards and three touchdowns as No. 2 ranked Mount Union completed its sixth straight undefeated regular season. It was the 21st perfect regular season for the Purple Raiders (10-0, 9-0), who extended their regular season win streak to 63 games and regular season road winning streak to 104 games. Piloto had the first 300-yard passing performance for the Raiders since he came off the bench and threw for 325 yards against Bethel (Minn.) in the national semifinals of last year’s NCAA Playoffs. A.J. Claycomb had a career-high 117 yards receiving on eight catches while Chris Denton had two touchdowns on nine catches for 64 yards. Running back Jeremy Murray had the other touchdown reception has he had two catches for 59 yards to go along with 74 yards rushing on 21 carries, while fellow running back Blair Skilliter had a game-high 76 yards rushing on 10 carries. Julius Moore had a seven-yard rushing touchdown on the first drive of the game as Mount Union led 21-0 at the half before going on to the 28-0 victory. All of this was more than enough for the nation’s No. 1 rated defense that held Muskingum (4-6, 3-6 OAC) to just eight first downs and 125 total yards while posting their third shutout of the season.

Geneva 23, Westminster 10

NEW WILMINGTON, PA.

Rocco Collavecchia set a Geneva record for rushing yards by a quarterback in a game as he ran 185 yards on 27 attempts for the Golden Tornaodes (4-6, 4-4 Presidents’ Athletic Conference). Geneva’s other QB, Zack Hayward, completed 14 of 23 passes for 125 yards and two touchdowns, including a 20-yarder to Jordon Curry with 9:04 left that essentially clinched the win. Westminster senior quarterback Shawn Lehocky completed 10 of 26 passes for 126 yards as he finished his career ranked sixth in team history with 3,974 career passing yards. The Titans finished at 5-5, 4-4.

Grove City 35, Thiel 3

GREENVILLE, PA.

Senior tailback Blaine Miller ran for 129 yards and three touchdowns while sophomore wingback Jimmy Bailey accumulated 172 all-purpose yards for Grove City (3-7, 3-5 PAC), which took a 21-0 lead in the first 12 minutes. Defensively, sophomore safety Joe Diani intercepted two passes, helping lead an effort that forced five Thiel turnovers while also limiting the Tomcats to just 215 yards of offense. Thiel quarterback Jared Soell went 17 of 30 for 148 yards.

Saint Vincent 20, Bethany 14

LATROBE, PA.

Saint Vincent scored the go-ahead touchdown with 9:33 to play and stopped Bethany’s final drive with an interception in the end zone with 1:15 to play. The Bison gained 313 total yards, while holding the Bearcats to just 222, with Huey Ehredt accounting for 116 of those on the ground in 13 carries. Matt Grimard threw for 195 yards for the Bison, but was picked off twice and sacked four times. Senior Eric Walker rushed for a team-high 58 yards and with 2,916, needs just 31 more to surpass Will Anderson (2,946) as the all-time leading rusher in Bethany history.

Ohio Wesleyan 49, Hiram 5

HIRAM

Ohio Wesleyan (4-6, 3-3 North Coast Athletic Conference) finished with 600 yards of total offense (275 rushing and 325 passing). The Bishops were led by Mason Espinosa who completed 19-of-26 passes for 325 yards and five TD. David Mogilnicki caught four passes for a game-high 138 yards and two scores. Hiram had 207 yards of offense (85 rushing and 122 passing) for the game and was led on the ground by sophomore quarterback Brendan Hanna with 39 yards on eight carries. He also completed four-of-15 passes for 75 yards, but tossed three interceptions.

Walsh 27, Quincy 20

QUINCY, ILL.

Toba Olarewaju (Youngstown Christian) rushed for 100 yards and two touchdowns and Walsh (5-6) rallied from a 13-0 deficit to win its season finale. The Cavs, who won their last three games, totaled 230 yards on the ground, while holding Quincy to 61 yards on the ground. Senior Pat Kane provided the play of the day when he intercepted at Quincy pass and returned it 26 yards for a score at the 14:48 mark.

Kutztown 21, Slippery Rock 14

KUTZTOWN, PA.

Slippery Rock’s bid for the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference football championship came up short. Kutztown (10-1), which won its first PSAC championship in school history, assured itself of a berth in the NCAA playoffs. Backup quarterback Marshall Vogel spelled starting signal caller and All-America candidate Kevin Morton, who was injured midway through the second period, and completed 25 of 39 passes for 300 yards and two touchdowns to lead the winners’ 413-yard offensive attack.
