MERCER, PA.
The annual Christmas Celebration for Children, a fundraiser sponsored by the Friends of Children’s Aid Society, will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 1 and Dec. 2 at the society, 350 W. Market St.
The event raises money for the agency’s Christmas giving and offers punch and holiday cookies.
Last year during the holidays, the society provided 2,155 families and children with toys, clothing and necessities.
The fundraiser added $1,595 for that community service.
Also, with public support, the friends provided $7,705 over the past year for needs at the society.
The Christmas Celebration will feature homemade rolls, breads, pies, cookies and candy as well as holiday baskets and other items for giving.
Advance orders of poinsettias in red, white, burgundy and marble star (white with coral center of each bract) and fresh evergreen wreaths, door or window swags and white pine roping may be picked up during the event.
Extra evergreens and poinsettias also will be for sale.
To order call 724-662-4730 or email juliaa@zoominternet.net by Nov. 25.
