Dr. Daniel and Ruth Ebert of Poland will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Friday.

Dr. Ebert and the former Ruth Walker were married Nov. 18, 1961, at St. Paul Church in Norwalk, Ohio.

On Aug. 5, Monsignor William Connell and the Rev. Donald King said a celebratory Mass for them at Holy Family Church, where the Eberts are members.

After the Mass, a dinner dance took place at the Holy Family Church hall, which more than 100 people attended, including the couple’s four sons, their families and friends.

The Eberts’ family follows: Dr. Steven Ebert and his wife, Svetlana Strom, and their sons, Michael and Nicholas, of Oveido, Fla.; Dr. Daniel Ebert and his wife, Mary, and their children, Flannery, Erin, Bridget, Zachary and Graciella, of Poland; Dr. Dean Ebert and his children, Nate, Natassja and Simone, of Nokomis, Fla.; and Scott Ebert and his wife, Sherrie, and their daughter, Olivia, of Sandusky.

After graduating from Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Ebert enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, where he obtained the rank of captain in the Veterinary Corps.

Mrs. Ebert, a registered nurse, and her husband moved to Youngstown to open a veterinary practice, where they have worked for the past 46 years.
