YSU trails North Dakota State 14-3 early in second quarter


The Youngstown State football team trails North Dakota State 14-3 early in the second quarter of a Missouri Valley Football Conference game Saturday at the Fargodome.

YSU took a 3-0 lead on a 33-yard field goal by David Brown on the game's opening possession, capping a 13-play, 67-yard drive that chewed up more than 7 minutes.

NDSU immediately answered, driving 52 yards in three plays and scoring on a 1-yard run by Sam Ojuri.

YSU drove inside the NDSU 15 on its second possession but Kurt Hess was intercepted by Marcus Williams, who returned it 51 yards to the YSU 40. The Bison drove to the YSU 1, where they scored on fourth-and-goal on a 1-yard run by Ojuri.
