YSU leads North Dakota State 27-24 after three quarters


The Youngstown State football team leads North Dakota State 27-24 after three quarters of their Missouri Valley Football Conference game Saturday at the Fargodome.

The Penguins recovered a fumble on NDSU's opening drive of the second half, taking over at their own 29. They then drove 71 yards for the touchdown, a 10-yard pass from Kurt Hess to Jamaine Cook to make it 24-21. The drive's big play was a 46-yard pass from Hess to Jelani Berassa deep down the right sideline.

NDSU tied it on a 27-yard field goal with 8:52 left.

YSU then took a 27-24 lead on a 30-yard field goal by David Brown with 2:49 left.
