Operation Santa Paws, photos will help abused, neglected, discarded animals

Operation Santa Paws is a drive by Shepherd of the Valley, spearheaded by its Poland community, to collect items for the dogs, cats, and other animals cared for by Alchemy Acres Animal Sanctuary in Salem, Animal Charity of Youngstown, and The Animal Welfare League of Trumbull County in Warren.

From Monday through Dec. 19, donations will be accepted at all Shepherd of the Valley locations: 7148 West Blvd., Boardman; 4100 North River Road NE, Howland; 1500 McKinley Ave., Niles; 301 W. Western Reserve Road, Poland; Home Health & Corporate Offices, 5525 Silica Road, Austintown; plus Copper Zone Tanning at the Southern Park Mall and Pet Lodge USA, 8063 Market St., both in Boardman.

Also, the Southern Park Mall is offering pet photos with Santa Claus from 2 to 7 p.m. Nov. 20. Bring a donation for Operation Santa Paws and receive a coupon from Chik-fil-a for a free sandwich.
