Shepherd of the Valley presents Operation Santa Paws

Operation Santa Paws is back to bring happiness, joy and chew toys to animals in the Mahoning Valley.

Operation Santa Paws is a drive by Shepherd of the Valley, spearheaded by its Poland community, to collect needed items for the dogs, cats and other animals cared for by Alchemy Acres Animal Sanctuary in Salem, Animal Charity of Youngstown and The Animal Welfare League of Trumbull County in Warren.

“Back in 2008, we were looking for a charitable activity for Christmas and the staff and residents realized that no one thinks of pets that are without a family. We started Operation Santa Paws that Christmas and every year it has grown,” said Paula Blakeman, SOV-Poland activity director. “This year, we are really excited about the Southern Park Mall joining us in this project.”

Starting Nov. 14 and through Dec. 19, donations will be accepted at all Shepherd of the Valley locations:

• Boardman, 7148 West Blvd., Boardman 44512

• Howland, 4100 North River Road, NE, Warren 44484

• Niles, 1500 McKinley Ave., Niles 44446

• Poland, 301 W. Western Reserve Rd., Poland 44514

• Home Health & Corporate Offices, 5525 Silica Rd., Austintown, 44515

• Copper Zone Tanning at the Southern Park Mall
