Indictments handed up by a Mahoning County grand jury include charges against two men accused of murder and a man accused of purposely spreading the virus that causes AIDS.

Anthony J. White, 29, of Youngstown, was slated for a preliminary hearing Thursday in the shooting death of 29-year-old Teresa Stillwagon and the wounding of another man on the South Side in October. His case, however, was presented directly to the grand jury this week. He is charged with murder, attempted murder, felonious assault and illegal possession of a weapon.

Police say White began shooting into a crowd with an assault rifle during an argument with another man.

Rayshawn Royal, 18, of Cohasset Drive was indicted on charges of aggravated murder and aggravated robbery with firearm specifications. According to the indictment, Royal shot and killed Brandon Adkins while attempting to commit or fleeing after a robbery June 19.

Randal Brown, 23, of Youngstown was indicted on one count of felonious assault after authorities say he had unprotected sex with a girlfriend knowing he is HIV positive.

Brown was scheduled for a preliminary hearing Thursday, but his case also was taken directly to the grand jury.

Brown was arrested last week. Police found him working and living in North Carolina, where he fled after the felonious- assault complaint was filed against him Aug. 30.

According to police, Brown had been involved romantically with the 20-year-old college student since December 2010 and had not revealed to her his HIV status.

The woman reportedly became ill in July. It was shortly after she became ill that Brown told her he has AIDS.
