“WFMJ Today” on-air personalities will collect food for the fifth annual Project: Feed Our Valley campaign on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Super Kmart in the Eastwood Mall complex.
Lauren Lindvig, Scott Schneider and Mike Case from 21 WFMJ-TV will be on hand to accept donations of nonperishable food items to benefit Second Harvest Food Bank. For each item collected at Kmart, The Cafaro Foundation will donate $1 to the campaign.
“Project: Feed Our Valley is an effort to educate people about hunger in our community. It’s also a ‘call to action’ to raise vital donations of food and money in order to feed our hungry neighbors in Columbiana, Mahoning and Trumbull counties,” said Michael Iberis, Second Harvest executive director.
Since its inception five years ago, Project: Feed Our Valley has collected $217,491 and 256,550 pounds of food.
