Boardman girls soccer players earn postseason honors

Several Boardman soccer players earned postseason awards as the Federal League, Mahoning County and Youngstown District individual awards were determined Oct. 16.

Senior captain Hailey Dickey was awarded First Team Federal League, First Team Youngstown District and First Team Mahoning County. Senior captain Kayliegh Huck received Second Team Federal League and Honorable Mention Mahoning County. Senior captain Courtney Augustine was awarded Honorable Mention Federal League and Academic Excellence Mahoning County.

Senior Khooshali Shah was awarded Academic Excellence Mahoning County.

Junior Sara Strawinski received First Team Youngstown District and Second Team Federal League. Junior SueJude Hamdan received Honorable Mention Federal League.

Sophomore Nikki Hillard was awarded First Team Federal League, First Team Youngstown District and First Team Mahoning County.

The entire varsity squad also will receive a plaque for academic excellence. Plaques are presented to First Team Federal League players and certificates are issued for Second Team and Honorable Mention.

A banquet was held to honor the County and District players on Nov. 3, where they received plaques and trophies for their accomplishments.
