East Ohio Volleyball Club

Tryouts will be held for the East Ohio Volleyball Club on Nov. 13 and 20 from 1 to 6 p.m. at the Warren YMCA, 210 High Street, Warren.

YMCA offers Fall calendar

The Fall Youth Fundamental Basketball League has begun. The league runs through Dec. 17 and is open to boys and girls ages 4 to 15. Registration fees are $48 for YMCA members and $68 for all others.

They are also offering a Fall Sunday Team “Select” Basketball League which will conclude with a tournament Dec. 18. The “Select” league is open to boys in 4th, 5th and 6th grade and girls in 5th and 6th grade. Registration fees are $42 for YMCA members and $57 for all others.

Pirates winter caravan due in Youngstown Dec. 14

The Pittsburgh Pirates’ Winter Caravan will visit Youngstown on Dec. 14 as part of scheduled visits to 16 different communities in Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia.

During the three days of Caravan visits, current and former Pirates players, coaches and representatives will meet with fans and the media.

Those expected are manager Clint Hurdle, players Andrew McCutchen, Joel Hanrahan, Kevin Correia, Jose Tabata, Jeff Karstens, James McDonald, Daniel McCutchen, Alex Presley, Brad Lincoln and Michael McKenry and coaches Jeff Banister, Nick Leyva, Luis Silverio and Ray Searage.
