After Tuesday’s election, Austintown’s 0.5-mill senior-services levy passed with about 52 percent of voters in favor and about 48 percent opposed.
Austintown Trustee Lisa Oles said voter approval of the senior-services levy means expanded hours for the center on Westchester Drive.
The levy will generate $309,202 each year for five years. Oles said the center board also is looking at transportation services to the center for seniors who don’t drive, and improvements to the kitchen.
Money generated will also be used to pay for utilities in the building.
