Robbers grab $200 at Smoker Friendly

Police continue to investigate a Wednesday morning robbery at Smoker Friendly, 4927 Market St.
Officers said employees at the smoke shop told them a man wearing a ski mask entered the business about 8:30 a.m. and said he had a gun. The man also put his hand under his shirt, as if he were holding a weapon, but employees did not see a gun, reports state.
Police said the man got away with about $200. Anyone with information is asked to call Boardman police.
US charges man in Trumbull County
CLEVELAND
A federal grand jury has indicted a 30-year-old Burghill man on one felony count of lying to a bank. Jay D. Davidson was charged with knowingly supplying fictitious tax documents and annual income figures for JBT Enterprises in a May 3, 2005, loan application to Charter One Bank.
The FBI’s Youngstown office investigated the case, and David M. Toepfer, the Youngstown-based assistant U.S. attorney, is prosecuting it.
Aut Mori Circus returns to Valley
North Lima
The Aut Mori Grotto Royal Hanniford Circus will arrive in the Mahoning Valley this month. The circus will be in the former South Range High School’s gymnasium, 2905 South Ave., in North Lima.
Show times are 7 p.m. Nov. 23 and 24; 2 and 7 p.m. Nov. 25 and 27; and 2 and 7 p.m. Nov. 26.
Tickets are on sale now for $20 at 7375 Market St. in Boardman and also will be available for purchase at the circus entrance ticket booth.
Parking is free, and doors will open one hour before the start of each show.
Austintown opens firehouse to public

The township’s newly renovated part-time fire station will be open to the public Sunday.
Austintown Fire Chief Andy Frost Jr. said from noon to 4 p.m. visitors can stop at the South Raccoon Road station for food, drinks and a tour.
In 2009, the department secured a $333,000 grant through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act to update the station, which was 50 years old and in serious disrepair. The station reopened in September, after six months of construction.
Frost said a ribbon-cutting ceremony will be at 1 p.m., and firefighters will hand out free smoke detectors.
Forum to focus on dealing with seizures

Knowledge in Dealing with Seizures (K.I.D.S.) 13th annual Neurological Conference, sponsored by the Mahoning Valley Epilepsy Fund and Help Hotline Crisis Center, will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 19 at Austintown Public Library, 600 S. Raccoon Road.
Registration fees are $30 for professionals receiving continuing-education credits and $15 for members of the general public. There is a $10 late fee for reservations not received by today.
