Public indecency
Austintown
A township man is charged with public indecency after exposing himself outside Phoenix House.
William Bednar, 55, a resident of Phoenix House on North Meridian Road, was arraigned on the charge Wednesday in Mahoning County Area Court here. He’s due back in court for a pretrial hearing at 2:30 p.m. Monday.
Phoenix House is considered low-income senior housing in Austintown.
An employee said she went outside to bring residents back inside after the fire alarm was pulled at about 2:15 p.m. Monday. At that time, she saw Bednar lying on a bench with his pants unzipped and his genitals exposed, according to a police report.
