Examiner suggests revoking Ohio funeral home license
DAYTON, Ohio (AP) — An examiner has recommended permanently revoking the license of an Ohio funeral home accused of breaking state laws and regulations, including improper procedures that contributed to someone being buried in the wrong grave.
The Dayton Daily News reports that the examiner also recommends the state Board of Embalmers and Funeral Directors permanently revoke McLin Funeral Home director Scherrie McLin’s license.
The examiner’s report submitted this week concludes that “wrongful acts” were numerous and repeated and reached into virtually every aspect of funeral directing.
McLin’s attorney did not immediately return a call for comment today.
McLin was ordered to stop operating the Dayton funeral home in March after the state accused her of violating nine state laws and administrative codes.
McLin is the sister of former Dayton Mayor Rhine McLin.
