A woman whose 17-year-old daughter was found dead in Charlotte, N.C., on Oct. 15 after having run away from home months earlier has reported her 13-year-old son as a runaway.

Vontisue T. Patterson, 35, of Blair Avenue Northwest, reported Avery L. Patterson as a runaway at 1:25 a.m. Thursday.

She said the boy, who is

5 feet 9 inches, 200 pounds, left home about 2 p.m. Wednesday and did not

return. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a black hoodie and blue sneakers.

Avery’s sister, Aerial L. Patterson, was found dead in the yard of a vacant home Oct. 15. Police said they believe the girl was killed Oct. 14. Eddie Doh, 23, of Charlotte later was charged with killing the girl. A family member said Aerial had a habit of running away from home and traveling to places to meet people she had met on the Internet.
