Police charged a 59-year-old man with felonious assault with a weapon or ordinance after he reportedly aimed his pistol at two teenagers working on a roof Saturday.

Police say Howard Winkleman, 346 Plymouth Ave, drove his vehicle to 122 Lorain Ave, where a 15-year-old and a 19-year-old were working on the roof.

Winkleman stepped out of his vehicle, aimed his pistol at the victims and said he was going to kill them for comments they made about his wife, a police report said.

The two victims told the police they did not know his wife or the comments to which Winkleman referred.

Police caught up with Winkleman at his home where he confessed aiming his pistol at the victims, the report said.

Winkleman reportedly said he wanted to “teach them a lesson.”

The report said Winkleman did have a license for the pistol, but police found it loaded with a round chambered.

Winkleman’s pretrial hearing begins 2 p.m. Wednesday.
