The Youngstown Country Club was the site of the Sept. 10 outdoor wedding ceremony of Jill Caroline Schmutz and Edwin Michael Maughan Jr., both of Canfield.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. Reid Schmutz of Boardman. The groom is the son of Edwin Maughan Sr. of Poland and Linda Maughan of Bradenton, Fla.
The Rev. Peg Welch performed the 5:30 p.m. ceremony. A reception followed at the country club.
The bride wore an ivory strapless, trumpet-style gown, which featured layers of tiered organza in an overlapped asymmetrical pattern with a cathedral train and a 12-foot mantilla of Spanish lace.
The attendants wore eggplant-colored dresses. Matron of honor was Melanie Angiuli. Bridesmaids were Sheri Schmutz, the bride’s sister-in-law; Julie Ruffing, the groom’s sister; and Lindsay Cousins, Elicia Brooks, Kacee Snyder and Traci Kerns. Flower girl was Lily Schmutz, the bride’s niece.
Brian Forman served as best man. Groomsmen were Andy Schmutz and Charles Schmutz, the bride’s brothers; Sean Ruffing, the groom’s brother-in-law; and Jeff Lamparty, Joe Forestandi and Scott Beatty. Logan Schmutz, the bride’s nephew, was ring bearer.
Mrs. Maughan graduated cum laude from Ohio State University with a bachelor’s degree in English. She is a freelance editor.
Mr. Maughan earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing and business management from the University of South Florida. He is president and owner of Boardman Coin, Jewelry & Estate Buyers Inc. in Boardman and Niles.
After a honeymoon to Las Vegas and Maui, Hawaii, the newlyweds are making their home in Canfield.
