The Educational Center, Cedar and Morrison Avenues, Sharon, Pa., will be the site of a basket auction on Nov. 20. Doors will open at 1 p.m., and drawings begin at 3. BAZAARS

Tod Avenue United Methodist Women will have their annual holiday bazaar and stuffed chicken breast dinner Saturday at the church, 155 tod Ave. NW, Warren. Dinner will be served from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. and costs $8.50 for adults, $4.50 for children 4 to 11 and free for kids 3 and under. The bazaar will be open from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and will include drawings for gift baskets. CRAFT SHOWS

Howland Community Church, 198 Niles-Cortland Road, Warren, will have a Helping Hands Craft Show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Admission is $2. The event is sponsored by the Missions and Outreach Committee, Food Cupboard and Operation Shoe-leather. Proceeds support mission work of the church. Sharpsville Elementary PTO will have a fall craft show and basket auction to benefit the students from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the elementary school, 100 Hittle Drive, Sharpsville, Pa. Hot lunches will be available. Admission is $2.

DANCES

USA Dance, Youngstown-Warren Ballroom Dancers Association, is planning its annual Snowflake Ball from 4 to 9 p.m. Dec. 11 at Avon Oaks Ballroom, 1401 N. State St., Girard. The holiday dinner, dance and show, which are open to the public, will feature Andrew Pueschel and Amanda Wolf, Pittsburgh’s premier dance athletes whose three-year partnership has won multiple Rising Star titles across the country. Dancing will feature Smooth Ballroom, Latin, Swing and Hustle. Tickets will be sold in advance only. A limited number will be available through Nov. 27. FESTIVALS/FAIRS

Holy Family Church’s second annual Ethnic Fair will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Sunday. Vendors will be selling ethnic foods, wares and arts and entertainment will be provided.

FLEA MARKET

Columbiana First Presbyterian Church, 28 E. Park Ave., Columbiana, will host its fifth annual Indoor Flea Market from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 19 during “Christmas In Columbiana” weekend. This event will feature antiques, collectibles, a yard sale, garage sale, craft and flea market items, an eat-in or carryout lunch counter, a quilt raffle and a variety of homemade soups for $6 per quart. Vendors can reserve chairs and an 8-foot table for $12 or a 6-foot table for $10. NIGHTS AT RACES

Rodef Sholom Brotherhood will sponsor a Night at the Races on Saturday in Strouss Social Hall, 1119 Elm St. Gates will open at 7 p.m. and post time for the first race will be at 7:45. Cost of $15 per person (sponsor) includes deli sandwiches, wine, beer and soft drinks, and the patron gets to sponsor a horse that will run that night. Cost of $10 (general admission) includes deli sandwiches, wine, beer and soft drinks.

SALES

Liberty Middle School Football will host a rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at W.S. Guy Middle School, 4115 Shady Road, Liberty. From 8:30 to 9 a.m., there will be a presale event for $5 admission. After 9 a.m. admission is free. Donations can be dropped off at 5 p.m. Friday at the school.

Menagerie Thrift and Gift Shoppe, 6037 E. Market St., Warren, is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. The store sells clothing, furniture, books, antiques, collectibles and Christmas items year round. All purchases benefit Animal Welfare of Trumbull County, a nonprofit organization. New Hope United Methodist Church, 21 Fairview Ave., Niles, will host a festival sale for Ten Thousand Villages from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday and from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday.

St. James Episcopal Church, 7640 Glenwood Ave., Boardman, has scheduled its annual fall rummage sale for 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday. Friday is half-price day. Fall and winter clothing, jewelry, household items and more are among the offerings.

SPECIAL EVENTS

Northeast Ohio Regional Quilt Council announces the 2012 Getaway Weekend, “Quilters Give a Hoot,” which is scheduled for Feb. 17 through 19. The event will give those interested in quilting the opportunity to take classes, shop hop, relax and meet other quilters. The site is Quail Hollow Resort in Painesville, Ohio. TRIPS

United Community Education Department is sponsoring two bus trips in the coming weeks. The first will be Saturday to Ohio’s Amish Country. The cost is $8 per person and does not include lunch. The second trip is to Prime Outlets in Grove City, Pa., on Nov. 19. The cost is also $8 per person. For both trips the bus will leave United High School at 7:45 a.m. and return at 4:30 p.m. Payment is due at the time of registration.
