Lecture on gangster ‘Pretty Boy’ Floyd

CANFIELD

The Canfield Historical Society will conclude its fall lecture series with Atty. Timothy R. Brookes of East Liverpool, who will speak about Charles Arthur “Pretty Boy” Floyd at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

Floyd was a notorious bank robber who was shot and killed by police near East Liverpool in 1934.

Brookes has served as president of the East Liverpool Historical Society since 1987 and has written numerous articles for “Timeline,” published by the Ohio Historical Society, and for “Military Images.”

His lecture will include a question-and-answer session and refreshments, and is appropriate for all ages.

It will take place at the Canfield Historical Society’s Bond House, 44 W. Main St., across from the Canfield Library.
